Black Stars head Coach James Kwesi
Appiah has responded to former Black Stars captain and three times
African best player Abedi Ayew Pele that he has no problem with him as
both are very good friend’s aside being former team mates.
Abedi
Pele is reported to have said that; “I am friends with everyone
including Kwesi Appiah… But if you have a friend who has disappointed
you, what do you do? You stay behind your kids”.
Pele was
reacting to his children’s decision to retire from the Black Stars since
they believe the team’s management and technical team headed by Kwesi
Appiah had issues with them.
Kwesi Appiah expresses shock to have heard such statement from his fellow team mate and pledge to reconcile with him.
“I
don’t have any problem with him (Abedi Pele). Last year, I visited him
like three or four times and even visited him in his office. I don’t
have any problem with Abedi. All along I don’t have any problem with
him. I am very surprise such a statement is coming from him,” he told
Accra-based Happy FM.
Adding; “I don’t want to talk much about
this issue, we have a very big game ahead of us and all I am doing is to
prepare the team to face Sudan in our World Cup qualifier. We need the
support from all so we can qualify to the World Cup”.
Meanwhile,
the Marseille duo have asked the Ghana Football Association to be
excluded from this month's World Cup qualifier against Sudan while they
muse the exact date for their reappearance to the national team. |
