Pet ... Bieber and Mally the capuchin
JUSTIN Bieber has been hit with a hefty bill by the quarantine centre caring for his pet monkey which he sneaked into Europe on a private jet.
The pop star has been ordered to fork out thousands of pounds for care, food and vet visits to Mally the capuchin.Bieber, 19, has until midnight to claim the baby primate – seized by German customs on March 28 when the singer failed to produce the necessary paperwork for it.
The erratic teen idol had insisted his exotic pet accompany him on a transatlantic flight to Munich while on tour, breaking Germany’s strict health laws.
His management company told the shelter to dump 20-week-old Mally at a local zoo, according to the Munich Animal Protection Centre.
But customs say they have yet to receive a formal request to do so, either from Bieber or an authorised representative.
Mally is thought to have been given to the singer to mark his 19th birthday by music producer Jamal Rashid.
The abandoned monkey's only companions in his 10ft-by-16ft room at the shelter are his carer Conrad Dressler, 29, and an old teddy that Bieber gave him to play with.
Centre spokesman Judith Brettmeister said: “Mally is lonely. He could suffer serious psychological problems if he doesn’t start living with other capuchin monkeys soon.”
Today, Ladbrokes said Bieber was odds-on at 4/6 of leaving Mally in quarantine past the deadline - and 11/10 that he would collect his pet monkey.
