The School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has taken delivery of two state-of-the-art radiological work-station devices to enhance medical education.

The devices are equipped with software that can be used for diagnosis, data management, image manipulation and research.

They were a donation from the United Kingdom (UK) branch of the Atwima Kroye-Kuo, a benevolent society.

Dr. Charles Boakye, the President of the Society, handing over the devices at a ceremony in Kumasi, said they provided high quality pictures and imaging, making them ideal for surgery and medical care in general.

He expressed confidence that the gifts would significantly help the School to keep pace with modern trends in medical care.

Dr. Boakye invited Ghanaians abroad to assist institutions of higher learning in Ghana with the needed facilities and equipment.

He pledged continued support to the KNUST to promote science and technology education.

Professor Yaw Adu-Sarkodie, Dean of the SMS, thanked the donors for the gesture, and appealed to the private sector to complement efforts by the government to raise the standard of medical education
