I fear divorce -Piesie Esther.
She is scared of marriage failures that invariably lead to divorce looking at how the marriages of Gospel artistes end on hard rocks.
Speaking with Showbiz at her Darkuman home last week, she said that looking around and seeing how her colleague gospel musicians are losing their marriages, she gets scared.
“Even though I do not expect to experience something like that, I get very scared when I learn about couples who have fallen victim and I thank God for the understanding that exist between my husband and I.”
Commenting on those who have been victims, she said “I do not think it is the will of any of them to be divorced. Some of them had spectacular relationships and the end result should not have been divorce.”
If she had any wish for people who have fallen victim she said “I would really appreciate it if they forget about the past and get back together because God abhors divorce and it is said in the Bible that it is only adultery that can separate couples”
Her view on how to curb this divorce syndrome in the lives of gospel artistes is that “we have to pray because this is one of the ways through which the devil destroys musicians especially when the devil sees that everything is going on well for them.”
Going further she said “it should not always be about prayer. A married couple should do their homework well. If you are married you should know what to do and what time to do it. If it’s time for you to attend to your husband, you have to do that and do it very well before you do anything else.”
Giving an example of what she adds to her prayer, she said “I do not hide anything from my husband. He knows where I go to, what I do and at what time. Even though he does not care about such things. I think it is my duty as a wife to let him know and as a result I have gained his trust and I will not take advantage of that. In addition, I respect him so much”
Touching on why she has been missing for some time, she said she travelled outside the country to deliver a baby. “I can never be tired from doing the work of God.”
Piesie Esther currently has three albums to her credit, namely Apae Ama Me which was released in 2002, Mente Asie followed in 2008 and Ziba Beko in 2011. She earned nominations in the Gospel Artiste of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year categories at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards.
