Asamoah Gyan and his Chinese Super League side have qualified for next season's Asian Champions League.
Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his Shanghai SIPG side missed out on the title in the Chinese Super League on Sunday despite winning their game on the final day of the season.
Gyan returned to full fitness to start the game against Liaoning Whowin on Sunday, helping his side record a 2-1 victory on the day.
Shanghai SIPG’s claimed three points against Liaoning Whowin took them to 65 point after 30 games, two short of Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande.
Asamoah Gyan and his side however qualified for the Asian Champions League next season after emerging runners up to champions Guangzhou Evergrande.
Asamoah Gyan transferred from Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates to Shanghai SIPG in June 2015.
