Coach Robert Sackey: I Boozed To Welcome Sekondi Hasaacas Return To The Premiership

Robert Sackey

Former Ghana Female Under-20 (Black Princesses) head coach, Robert Sackey chose to get drunk when he heard the return of Sekondi Hasaacas FC into the Glo Premier League in his USA based home.

Robert Sackey who also served as the Technical Head of Sekondi Hasaacas before their exit from the Premier League said his reason for boozing was mainly to express joy after monitoring the team from US.

In an interview with PEACE FM on PEACE POWER SPORTS, coach Sackey is very optimistic that the return of the Sekondi based club will boost the competitiveness of the league next season.

“Infact I boozed and really enjoyed that because I was so happy for the team after monitoring them during the middle league. I made it known to the Chairman that, physically I am out but spiritually, I am with the team.

“…I am so happy we are back to the Premiership again. We are no longer a first division team but now a Premier League team so I am happy,” he said.

Sekondi Hasaacas are back in the Ghana Premier League after three seasons of playing in the lower division.

Hasaacas beat Gold Stars 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to make it two wins out of two games in the Zone 2 play-offs for Division One teams with a game to spare.

Hasaacas will now join Inter Allies and Bechem United for next season's top flight league.
